In the picture are Old Hank and Bob.
Neither one of these blokes has a job.
They didn't get fired;
They're just both retired,
and you'll never hear either one sob.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Old Hank (Darwin Henry Beuning) is on the left holding the water bottle, and Bob is on the right in the red shirt.

Hank finally found someone to whom he can speak in English!

Hank is living in Thailand for a couple of months, while his Thai wife visits relatives and friends. This week he met Bob, a Canadian who also has a Thai wife and is visiting there as well.

I don't know for a fact that Bob, like Hank, is also retired. I just took a wild guess. I'm sure Hank will let me know.

Lovely limerick on two retired people who became friends by chance! They have many things in common..... Thai wives, both having an interim stay at Thailand and both retired!

Kim, yes, it was great meeting up with Bob. Bob is semi-retired, but, will make it permanent soon. He is also a very solid chess player! !
