Limerick: Dodger Mania

Rating: 5.0

I am not the last one at the feast;
My allegiance has only increased.
I'm not a fickle man;
I've been a Dodger fan
Ever since they were based in the East.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My Los Angeles Dodgers have been trailing the San Francisco Giants in the National League West all season, but at the time of this writing are finally in first place, three full games ahead of the Giants. However, last time I checked, they were losing to the Giants 3-0 in the fifth inning tonight. Even if they lose today, they will still have a two game lead.I have been a Dodger fan since they were in Brooklyn. They always seemed to lose in the World Series to the New York Yankees, but they did beat the Yankees in 1955, and have won the series several times since moving to L.A.In the picture are shortstop Corey Seager (number 5) and first-baseman Adrian Gonzalez (number 23) . Corey has a good chance to be named National League Rookie of the Year, and Adrian hit three home runs in one game just the other day.[25 August 2016] Update: The Dodgers finally won the World Series again in 2020, the first time since 1988!

That was 1985. Although I am not into baseball like you, I did catch a little of the last couple Cubs/Dodgers games. I think the end of the world is nigh, as the Cubbies are in 1st place

I shall see what I can do for a caricature of Adrian and put it up on my site to torture you

Adrian Gonzales is a man to be feared at the plate. My Bluejays have been nicked more than a few times by this great athlete. If Bluejays and Dodgers meet in the world series We shall have a great time.

Wouldn't that be great if the Jays and the Dodgers did meet in the World Series? You and I could have a great time heckling each other!

You and Wes sure love your baseball. I've been a Bears fan since the early sixties, Haven't had much to cheer about in a while.: -)

The Bears have had some really good players (and teams) through the years, though. Didn't Mike Ditka coach them to Super Bowl win one year?
