nice to see the old man holding onto his dignity.

Maybe, he can make one more attempt and she may agree to dance! Miracles are there madam, so the grapes need not remain sour ever! Perhaps, you needed this pace of writing..

An interesting write, but in a western society a father may dance with her daughter.

Valsa I loved your poem. Though the grapes are not all sour, a few sweet ones are always present in a clutch of plenty.

you garnered (a word i 'never' use) some fine comments, especially the ones i considered clever. i especially liked the one from Tirupathi Chandrupatla (8/14/2014) . i believe this IS a limerick. not bad. of course i could do better! :) :) thanks for sharing. you are one of my favorites, Valsa. but you already know that. :) bri - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - p.s. i might add: He persisted: My sweet, shall we then go to bed? , to which she replied, NO! old man. Go drop DEAD! But he stopped NOT his attempts to woo the cute girl, saying Come now, my young lady, give me a whirl.
