Sometimes we feel like we can do everything alone
Like what we need is to be on our own.
Like we are just this one man army.

Like we can defeat any foe
Be the star of any show
Plow through any snow...
Like we are just this one man army.

That we don’t need any friends
That we should never have to make amends
That we are puppets that need no strings...
That to fly we need no wings...
Like we are just this one man army.

Like that car that needs no wheels
Or maybe these stilettos that need no heels...
Or the lonely cloud that needs no sky
Or the year that has no need for July
Like the fork that needs no spoon
Or the song that needs no tune
Like we are just this one man army.

Stop walking around like we own the ground on which we stand...
Like every once in a while we don’t need a hand...
Like we never ever ask for a little assistance
Like you can rule the world with just your naked existence
Walking around like I could run the speed of sound,
Like I’m just this one man army.
