Like The Tide Poem by Ralphstein Hibbert

Like The Tide

A forgiving heart, an undying love
My characteristics, cursed from above

Disrespected, embarrassed and ignored
A few things that I've endured

Tear filled eyes, a broken heart
Nothing left to be torn apart

Your unchanging ways, deceit and lies
Has left me wounded and severed our ties

Never seeing what wrongs you've done
Quick to defend or set to run

Not willing to listen, not ready to learn
You won't look to the past, where wisdom is earned

Before our goodbyes, I have this to say
It's not for us to choose or decide
Who our love flows to
Like the tide.
