Like Sheep Poem by Alfred Ramos

Like Sheep

Like Sheep
(My last protest poem of the year)

It is not a formal protest
But I do detest
The government
Taking my money
And giving it away
To the rich
To those above the law
Do we not see the flaw
Where we are herded
Like sheep
Is it a sign
Victims of the wine
The medication
With more side effects
Than death and taxes
Who has the edge
Who has the power
To corral us
Like sheep
If there mass destruction
Of mass proportions
It is here
In the stale atmosphere
Making us blind
By a pile so high
Of sheep dung
Who cries for patience
Who prays for redemption
Solons posing as shepherds
Shearing their sheep
