Like Our Cat



LIKE OUR CAT

Like our cat
I am older
And like to rest more

The cat now wobbles as it walks
Where once it was graceful
It does everything with less enthusiasm
Sleeps and wakes and sleeps again
It just does not enjoy life as it once did

Like our cat
I am older
And knowing it try harder
I was never so graceful as our cat
But I walk more than ever before
And try to believe I am still alright

Like our cat
I am older
And like our cat
One day
I am going to die-
