Like It Never Was Poem by Gerald Noble

Like It Never Was

Beautiful yet dysfunctional
Was what we shared
No way under the sun
Could it have lasted
You and I
Yes we were like the mist that appears
Remains for a short while
And then disappears
Like it never was

From strangers to lovers
And back to strangers
Once was a time
When to me you didn't exist
Once also was a time
When you were the only thing I knew
Only with you
Did I ever feel unalone
But now its all gone
Like it never was
