Like In A Strange Town Poem by Veronique Frozen

Like In A Strange Town

Rating: 5.0

Everything started so fine
We had a great time together
However life is not always
Full of happiness
After every hour
Must follow a different time
Time of sadness and hatefulness.

Step from the happy time
To the land of craziness
It seems is just a normal
Part of our lives but not for me.

Strange town, oh, this weird strange town
With its steeples and darkness
With strange people, with strange air

In every room, I’ve known very well
Stands a man in a black coat
Woman with a black cat
Child with a dozen of tears and they
All want to show me what
They brought with them.

Strange town, oh, this weird strange town
With its steepler and darkness
With strange people, with strange air

I’m a stranger, man from a far off country
Stayed in a strange room with strange people
Holding their terrible treasures.

I knew my books, I knew my family
I knew my flat but they are all gone
Mother! Father! My lovely brother!
Where are you? Why you left me all alone?
Why I must be there on my own?
I don’t want to stay with a strange people
In a strange town
Please, let me take to your old kingdom

Strange town, oh, this weird strange town
With its steepler and darkness
With strange people, with strange air…

I can relate to those words very much Veronique. And reading through your poem I could picture the agony. Something I have felt too at times and of late always. Keep on writing........
