Like A River......... Poem by Kishore Kumar Das

The river flows
always forward
can it go back to origin?
during its course
it passes through
rocky terrains
forests and plains
producing greenery
fostering the living beings
till it loses its identity
merging with sea.

Life also flows
with the passage of time
present transforms to past
non-stop
past recorded in mind
can we go back to past?
we move forward
with plethora of joys and sorrows
till that mysterious moment
called death
when we merge with the Almighty.
