Like A Bolt Out Of The Blue - Poem by Vassilis Comporozos

Rain water
the huge cloud’s
upon flowers
which could never
reach it
had it not
become rain.

And now
they’ve drunk it
to the dregs
like a love
which they thought
a fleeting
till, like
a bolt
out of the blue
it showered
its invincible
upon them.
