Lighthouse Poem by Artemis Gutierrez

Lighthouse

Rating: 5.0

In many ways you're my lighthouse,
Guiding me through the night.
When I'm scared and filled with fright.
As you, my God, watch over me,
Watching me from places I can't see.
Oh, my lighthouse! How it guards me through the night!
Its beautiful rays grant me sight.
God shows me the way and I finally understand,
So, in respond, I go to the shore full of sand.
The foggy night makes it hard to go
To where the lighthouse beams show.
But still...
My lighthouse, Oh my caring lighthouse!
Whenever I need you your there.
Yet, I often stray
Even though He tells me to stay.
I'm blind without my lighthouse
(My God, Savior and to whom I pray)
I love my lighthouse so dearly...
But if, ever, my lighthouse would disappear,
Who would lead me away from cliffs and rock?
Who would show me to the nearby docks?
who would shine the rays of light?
Would I get lost in the night?
Without my lighthouse how would I
hear, think or see?
So, you see, I need my lighthouse
or I don't know where I would be.
