Light Casts A Shadow Poem by Tirupathi Chandrupatla

Light Casts A Shadow

Rating: 5.0

How long do we
Remain in darkness?
Let's move into
Well lighted place
Let's now realize
Our true values.

Light, my friend
Blinds my eyes
Light shows ages
Pain affected faces
Young and old
Black and white
Rich and poor
Separates into classes
All those divisions
We never knew before
Light casts a shadow
Eclipse of the soul
It keeps following
Everywhere we go.

In darkness, my friend
There're no differences
All remain equal
Peace'll prevail
Darkness' what I like
Don't throw any light
Let me stay this way
Let me get some sleep.

I agree, in darkness all we need is a voice, how we look does not matter. Thoughtful and well written.

Thank you David for your mention of light of hope. If we carry some of the good aspects of darkness into daytime I think we will reach a new height.
