Light Poem by Cheryl Cheng

Light

Rating: 5.0

Did you ever notice a stream of light,
Darting in and out of the shadows?
Did you ever see a butterfly formed by light,
Fluttering about?
Light is everywhere.
Whether in our hearts,
Or shining down upon us.

Did you ever catch a firefly,
And gazed at its beauty?
Did you ever fall into darkness,
But be saved by a thin river of light?
I have, and I did.
Light lifts our souls
And washes away any negativity.

Did you ever close your eyes,
But still see spots of light?
Did you ever know a person,
That even dead, still had a special light?
They are full of light.
Light shines through the heart.
Light is infinite.

Did you ever glimpse a light,
Sparkle mischieviously of someone's eye?
Did you ever see a rainbow,
Shine with colours in the sky?
Light relfects us.
Light explains us.
Light is us.
