Lifting Off To The Melting Moon Poem by M. Bloom

Lifting Off To The Melting Moon

Rating: 4.5

The tired tide takes me away,
Off to the island in the sky,
A gleaming coast all made up
Of the sweet sand of lullabies.

Life seems so much smaller
Lifting off to the melting moon
As dreamscaped mountains raise up
Only to be re-tethered too soon.

The pixie-dust has made up
An ephemeral ecstasy,
Only the palaces must crumble
To bring back sad, sweet reality.

Oh, take me back to the place I know,
Leave me in my mind to roam,
Past the trees of jubilee
Where moonkissed shadows welcome me
Back home.
