Lifestyle Choices Poem by gershon hepner

Some people vote to validate
their lifestyles, others do
to make a point to those they hate,
more protest vote than point of view.
To vote one’s lifestyle can be fun,
but when you choose a candidate
you’re often forced to choose the one
who’ll come in first though second rate.
When voting is about complaining
against those who should abdicate
some feel they’re better off abstaining,
and let blank ballots seal their fate.
Although there is a need for leaders
who’ll fight the foe who’s at the gate,
not voting helps the faint heart bleeders
take over those who are irate.
