Lifeless Life Poem by Yasmin Khan

Lifeless Life

Rating: 5.0

Lifeless Life

A heavenly floret issued from its abode
murmuring prayers, sighs from lips flowed

Never had it blossomed, stayed in eternal repose
beauty sustained in stupor, fragrance froze

Descended a star from the sky of north
Shut its rays, gloom filled the hearts

A glow worm eclipsed, and never unveiled
its holy light to the eyes, tears engraved

Symphony too somber imprisoned in strings
A soul so sweet, rode on a divine bird's wings

Lifeless life sank into the murkiness of grave
She was born still, but a charm so rave

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
She was the one near and dear to my heart. It bears a melancholy tone as it was a shocking experience of my life.

The first reading reminded me of Blake's images...composed in such a refined symbolism that the poets notes guided me to the roots of the imagery...n now i can feel the empathy n onenness of the poet with her that rendered life as lifeless...
