Life Without You Poem by Leslie Alexis

Life Without You

When I think of life without you:
The sun has given up its shine
And the sea has frozen to ice
Flower wilt; giving up their bloom
Summer days fade to winter nights.

When I think of life without you:
The millipede has lost it legs
Honey bees no longer make honey
Birds glide on the ground like snakes
A monster replaces the last bunny.

When I think of life without you:
Time is compressed to one second
The earth morphs to something flat
Rains fall upwards to the heavens
All islands get the fate of Montserrat.

When I think of life without you:
Rainforests dry to desert lands
Cool breeze blows flames of fire
Rivers flow from puddles of blood
Lakes and ponds become mere mire.

When I think of life without you;
Tomorrow becomes a pointless burden
Love is darkened till it does not exist
Life is bettered by sudden death
Lips shy at the thought of a kiss.
