Life Sentence Poem by archie langford

Life Sentence

Life Sentence

Life is a burden too great to bear
The hunger, thirst the sickness pain,
The desert heat, the artic cold,
The fight for freedom that`s ever vain.

Life is the chain that binds hand an feet
The cell my soul in bondage keeps
The dark black swamp that drags me down,
The blinding light that denies me sleep.

Life is the weight that holds my spirit low,
The darkness that will not let me see.
The prison wall, the iron gate
Oh life will`t never set me free.

Wow! ! Excellent poem Archie...but I hope this was just a poem for that moment in time, and not truly a lifelong battle...: -) Hugs, Dee
