Life's Test Poem by Kerrie Smith

Life's Test

Rating: 3.0

Life's a test and now it's testing me.
To see how strong I want to be.
It picks me up but then knocks me down.
It's hard sometimes but I try not to thrown.
My tvs broken, microwave and floor.
Car won't drive and teigs stuck in the door.
The wee ones test me more each day.
I shout a little and hope they learn to play.
Bills flow in and they sit with the junk.
Ive given up and my mood has sunk.

Then something happens to pick me up.
A few kind words or a slobbery pup.
Maybe a phone call, a lovely card.
Or even the sun shining In the yard.
A day at the beach or a walk in the park.
A kiss on the cheek as I feel a spark.
A tight little hug from tiny hands.
Or a special gift made off loom bands.
This is the way life tests us all.
Just remember you don't have to fall.

I enjoy 'philosophical' poems and yours was a good one, Kerrie. Thanks for sharing

I like the rhythm and flow of your poetry, also the resilience they demonstrate. Also a great forbearance as your poem 'Revenge Is Sweet'.
