Life On The Run

Must you live your life on the run
Shooting at everything you've left undone
Once there was time to catch just for fun
Now the seconds have fumbled across
Your fingertips as you run

When you were young you never wanted
To be committed to the present
Presently all your commitments
Have all been made by committee
And all they are talking about
Is having you committed

It takes more than stems and thorns
To make a flower called a rose
In my world you would rise up early
And tingle the senses of my nose

If you stand out in the rain
And cry out all your tears
No one will ever know that
Inside you have all these hidden fears
Raging from a waterfall
called my yesteryears

One day you will no longer care
Not another step taken out of fear
All the wounds of hate that caused you tear
Will all have healed
And there will be nothing to fear

One day you will with all this be done
Not another second will be taken
While you are on the run
You've taken all the steps
And all the casings have been left
Empty, spent, and undone

One day you will no longer care
Not another second spent
In a lonely despair
And all the remarks that clouded the air
Will be blown away by a hurricane
Of force leaving them with
Their own steps and stair

Who wants to tell me that poem is just inner self channeling? well let we see what Thomas did here, absolutely clarify that poem is also can be thoughts from self to others, to take it and a lesson and advice...shared in chained of words that sounds like no strict words just honest_Soul (Report) Reply

Steps should be taken on their own, not influenced by others views & suggestion, if u ponder more & more on what others say, u would happy no more, as no one in this world makes happy every one..
All the wounds of hate that caused you tear
    Will all have healed
And there will be nothing to fear..touching lines. (Report) Reply

very strong poem, and that too by One whose grip is tight on the pulse of life! though the wait for the new poem was long but if such is the outcome of long wait then such gaps are welcome! (Report) Reply
