Life Of Regret Poem by Brendan Miller

Life Of Regret

Lonely I am reaching for logic in anguish
A gun to the alcohol breath
Bang, the whisper of the shot
Crash, my head to the corner
Blood and gore from veins and arteries
Send carnage on the wall

The fiery inferno that filled the mind
Shot out with a weapon
Dangerous and profound
Falling to the ground
That which I attempt
Has filled me with content

Peaceful I have become
Due to something astonishing
Outside I yell in anger
Because chugging vodka is simplistic
Deep down I shall ponder
The love and hate that lead to heartache
