Life Is Good Poem by Juan Olivarez

Life Is Good

The sun is bright, down at Padre.
Even in the early morning light.
Already bronzed bodies line the beach,
Practically naked bodies in the sand.
The clouds drift over, bringing some relief.
And the seagulls sweep over the ocean.
Four pelicans dive under the waves,
Coming up with fish in their bills.
I sit back with a cold Dos xx.
Elvira waves from the waters edge,
I blow her a kiss, and raise my beer,
Life is good.
