Life Eludes Poem by robyn selters

Life Eludes

sail along not seeing
forgotten selves
weeping alone
silent pain unspeakable
locked away
beyond mind’s reach

shaken loose
storm sudden fierce
blank faces stare
bleakly within
template of life eludes
as soul’s eyes beseech

how to live in desert cold
public persona gliding on
not hearing shunning
inconvenient truths
at odds with what
they preach
