Life Before Death Poem by RAJ NANDY

Life Before Death

Ask me not if there is life after death,
For I am certain there is one before.
A bird in hand is mine alright,
And not those in the bush taking flight!
So why speculate endlessly,
When you are alive and breathing free?
But there is a word of advice,
For those over-enthusiastic guys,
Don’t play your shots recklessly,
You may be caught in the slip
Or the gully.!
And if the fielder drops the catch,
One life you get in this match.
So you must look before you leap,
And also take a good night’s sleep.

The poet, the actor, the literary man,
Can live as many lives he possibly can.
God created this world for the living,
Remember Him in your thanksgiving.

And for those noble souls which depart,
There may be other dimensions, -
But not on this earth.
So enjoy life, be loving and giving,
For these are the golden rules of living.

This is a practical way of living without worrying about the other life-the poem speaks well of your bold statement to care more for the present life.
