Life Among The Orchards Poem by Marcus McKinley

Life Among The Orchards

Budding
In time blossoming
into a beautiful flower
Gradually changing, growing
the gynoecia maturing within
it loses its petals

Slowly becoming, life’s sensual fruit
No longer seen for its outer blossom
But, for its inner sweetness
A joy upon the tongue and lips
A taste of heaven and beyond

Beyond ….. the grasp of dreams
Yet, easily seen by the admiring eye
Alluring your flavor, I must try
With age comes sweet seduction
In forms of liquid ebullition
Flirtations, candle lit conversation
Altered satiety in mental gaiety
A mutual understanding
That, neither is demanding
This natural course of evolution
From the stamen to the stigma
This is life’s natural conclusion
Love is our solution
