Liebes-Gedankenspiel (nach Shelley: Love's Philosophy)

Nach Percy Bysshe Shelley:
Love's Philosophy

I.

Die Quellen mischen sich im Flusse,
Flüsse, ozeanumschlungen,
Im Wind der Weite wie beim Kusse
Himmlisch willenlos bezwungen;
Gottes Schöpfung wohnt es inne:
Niemand sinnt, allein zu sein.
Warum nur ist unsrer Sinne
Keiner Dein und mein?

II.

Wenn die Höhn mit Wolkenflüssen,
Wenn so nahe sich die Wogen,
Geschwisterlich die Blumen küssen -
Meer zum Land selbst hingezogen,
Sonnetrunken, mondverklärt,
Eins das andre küssen müßt':
Was ist alles Küssen wert,
Wenn Du mich nicht küßt?

Poem of the Day

poet John Clare

I love to see the old heath's withered brake
Mingle its crimpled leaves with furze and ling,
While the old heron from the lonely lake
Starts slow and flaps its melancholy wing,
