Liberty

Where the wind blows
Let me blow
Tell everyone I know
What hues I have seen
Starting from green
Wherever Spring has been - -
It's the end, they said
With their usual dread
Not knowing blood is red
Not blue but red
Not knowing what it has bred
Wherever it was shed
For something more than bread.

Dost see how unregarded now
That piece of beauty passes?
There was a time when I did vow
To that alone;
But mark the fate of faces;
