Liberation Poem by Nick Veasey

Liberation

I am the eagle soaring free,
I am the dreams I long to see,
I am the truth behind the lies,
Watch me roam high, above the pale blue skies.

Strike me hard,
Take my flight,
Force me to watch my dreams ignite.
Though the pain is plain to see,
My soul will rise up to carry me.

Darkness, Light,
Money, pollution,
Endless pain,
With no Solution.

A world beset by tyranny and lies,
Hope seems lost amongst infantile cries.
When the last of our dreams are finally gone,
And no one seems to hear our frail song.

Still we shall sing to deafened ears,
Fighting against our deepest fears.
Because our courage liberates others,
And removes the hatred that taints our brothers.

Fight strong, live free,
Aim high, work hard,
Ignore the words,
That once had scarred.
The world is ours to dream to be,
Imagine, Inspire,
and set yourself free.
