Letters To Mom Poem by Sierra Love

Letters To Mom

Dear Mom,

I smiled for the first time today
I held it so long
just wishing you would show up and see
you didn't
I should've guessed...

I got my first A on a math test
I showed it to everyone
but you
figures...

I kissed a boy for the first time today
I ran home so excited to share
only to remember you wouldn't be there
you never were....

It's Christmas today
I sit around with the small hope
maybe a letter, a card, anything will arrive
my mailbox is empty...

You may not deserve it
but everynight I hope that you are okay
You don't deserve it
but I still love you...

Your Daughter Always,
Sierra
