Letter From A Fallen Angel Poem by Kristen Currey

Letter From A Fallen Angel

Gently now, these wings of mine are broken,
I stumble until I fall to my knees,
It’s been long since e’vn demons have spoken,
I beg of you, help me stop this pain, please,
For I have forgotten how to fly,
This pain forces me to never forget,
That one cold night I chose to say “goodbye”
A moment I so sincerely regret,
Truly I have become and animal,
Onto my hands and knees I’ve fallen down,
I know these words I speak are my final,
I never once deserved wearing that crown,
For now I see the truth of the matter,
And the thought of past joy makes me sadder.
