Lethal Love Poem by Marcus McKinley

Lethal Love

When you say
I love you
with your insincerity
It breaks my heart
cracks open my chest cavity

I am standing here preaching
my own elegy
Impending doom is
what your love brings
Inevitably,
Incredibly,
I was blind
sided by your sexuality

The whole while
you
were just using me
Deceiving me
Twisting my mind
like a fuse
To abuse my love
then give me a shove
After you lit me and yelled
fire in the hole,
I guess
that was your goal
To send me off
the deep end
and watch
my heart

explode
