Let's Be Strangers Poem by Geetha Jayakumar

Let's Be Strangers

Rating: 4.5

Time is never same
It keeps on changing
So is the relationships.
Once placed with respect
Had shattered me
Into pieces.
Tears have dried up
Pain has frozen into ice
Nothing can grow in dry land
Its got dried forever
Think train left forever
Never to come back.
Many a times broken
Mirror cannot be mended
Even if broken thread tied together
Will always show a knot in it.
Which will always haunt
Me like sorrow.
A scar will remain.

Lets travel like an unknown passenger
Even if we ever happen to meet..

Wonderful! The train departed would sure to come back. But the thread tied cannot hide the knot. People buy a new mirror, a new colourful thread and try a new relationship. But the excellence of virtue of the heroine in this poem lies in her preference to be strangers if she meets that man who shattered her dreams of a happy life. Unusual theme/central idea makes the poem stand apart from the rest. *****
