Let My Meaningless Years Begin Poem by Roman Nikolaev

Let My Meaningless Years Begin

Let my meaningless years begin!
I’m a swan in the flock of crows.
Don’t forgive me my fearless sin,
That I have loved you much ever so

Don’t remind me that love does not last
And don’t mention that you heart is free;
But the notion of love I don’t get
Makes me a lonely sail on the sea

By the solitude given by you
I take all my efforts away,
And the love that I used to live through
Seems to bring only infinite pain

I’m sick of the trite phase that your heart
Doesn’t hear what my soul wants to say
I would love to begin from the start
But you ears do not hear me pray

Clinging onto the edge of your soul
All the hopes I have had were fond;
There is no way to withdraw
From this void of the ill fate beyond…
