Let It Go Poem by Suzanne Hayasaki

Let It Go

Drive the past from your mind
And lie with me tonight.
Forget whatever it is I that said
And let my touch tell you the truth.

You know that I love you.
Through my storms.
Through my silences.
Through my absences.

You know that you love me.
In spite of my weaknesses.
In spite of your strength.
In spite of your pride.

So release whatever memories have surfaced.
Light a pyre and cremate what was said and done.
We have both suffered.
We have both survived.

But don't you feel alive
In our bed
In my arms
Right now?
