Let It Be Poem by Casey Gochnour

Let It Be

In a daze, smoke wisps from your tender lips,
Dizzy in the head, eyes red as reality slips.
Skin that glows and dark with eyes that capture the soul,
My only woman; my one true goal.

Pressed against me, heat emanating off skin,
The world fading in and out on my lifeless grin.
Holding you tighter as you breathe in another puff,
Sometimes we can just never get enough.

Head buried deep into my chest as we lay,
Breathe out right here, don’t leave, just stay.
Live with me, here, live in my heart,
I’d rather us never have to be apart.

So quickly, come, grab my hand and hold them together,
You’re more than a lover, more than my bird of a feather.
You do more than just follow, you lead as your own,
And with me here with you, know you’re never alone.

Don’t leave, just stay the night with me,
You don’t have to go, just let it be.
Find love in me,
And just let it be.

Press your head against me, push your face into my chest,
There’s something about you, I know you’re unlike the rest.
But that’s not the point, you’re your own shining star,
And you’ll always be with me, no matter how far.

Don’t leave, just stay the night with me, baby,
You don’t have to go, stay and let it be.
Find love in me…
And just let it be.
