Lesson Learned Poem by Aria Siren

Lesson Learned

Rating: 5.0

I suppose I should be greatful
A lesson you have taught
In a manner hateful
Not the way I would have sought

Punched but I don't fall over
I smile at this unexpected stength
Swaying but now I'm sober
You won't hit my weak spot again

Wipe my face and kick down desire
So it won't get in the way
My eyes have reclaimed their fire
Even as yours look away

I am standing, ready to fight
My disappointment dares you to lie
You turn away and take flight
Before I even get to ask you why

Saddened but not soured
I promise myself not to run
I will never be a coward
You taught me not to be one.

I really loved this poem. Full of strength and very reflective. My favorite line would have to be: Saddened but not sour I promise myself not to run I will never be a coward You taught me not to be one That one line is just so powerful in my opinion. Great write :)

I like the strength in this poem. Your words showcase the will to carry on in a smarter way. Fav line: wipe my face and kick down desire so it won't get in the way.

That's the spirit! Take all the positives out of a negative experience. This illustrated how torn we can feel but you came out in the best side! A brilliant pen! Totally relatable! X x
