Leaving Abruptly Poem by Heather Burns

Leaving Abruptly

Rating: 4.8

Why did you leave so
abruptly?
without even a good bye

leaving behind a heart
never to heal

oft times you return in
the night

dreams become blurred
a string of emotions

days are long without you
yesterday taken over by
years

Yet your image remains
How can I ever forget?

A truly beautiful poem Heather. Seperatrion in all its forms is sad, but time does heal a wounded heart.

When a lover leaves, the separation may be looked at as brief and routine. May even forget to say good bye. When the separation is longer concern and anxiety keep mounting. True love is never forgotten. Beautifully developed in the poem.
