Leaning On My Fender Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

Leaning On My Fender

Rating: 5.0

Tires rolling to a stop in the shade on somewhere road.
A gravel bi-way speckled by the light
Filtered by the pines from way up high

These stately beauties seem to have been waiting for me.

No human noise to tug at me, no clock, no place to be.

Leaning on my fender without a care in the world
My sunlight eyes adjust to this darker tapestry
In time to greet a chipmunk passing by.

Hello mossy Oak you bearded royal steadfast marvel
Your tiny acorn gift makes me smile
A greeting from the universe to me

Careful frogs and crickets now return to chatter
Filling the stillness with echoed pageantry
As a nearly imperceptible breeze stirs and passes

Utterly delightful....think maybe many of us, if able, need to get out in nature like you have - and commune with nature...it is so good for the soul. Thank you for sharing this most beautiful gem!

You make it feel like I know that road. Beautifully written. Thanks Eddie

Nice scenery the speaker has inserted himself into as he leans onto his fender. I think I need a little of this myself. Thanks for sharing this beautiful bit of writing. Well done.

Thanks Pamalama, halfway into writing I thought of Kelly Kurt. So many of his sentiments share these simple moments. A little influence like a nearly impercetible breeze......hope all is well.
