Lean On Me Poem by Ray Hansell

Lean On Me

Here I was thinking
You didn't want me around
Now I feel so low
Lower then the ground

You can cry on my shoulder
You don't even have to ask
I never think of that
As even being a task

I wish I could be there
To hold and comfort you
To wrap my arms around you
That's what I want most to do

You could cry your tears
I wouldn't mind at all
There is even a chance
Mine to would start to fall

But that wouldn't bother me
If it helps to get you through
After all there are times
When we must do, what we must do

Sometimes just sitting and crying
Can help relieve the fear
I would love nothing more
Then to be the one who's near

So anytime you need a shoulder
To lay your head upon
I wouldn't mind at all
If it were me you leaned on
