Lazy Musings Poem by Somanathan Iyer

Lazy Musings

Far in the sky afar to our reach
dazzles a star in red and blue
watching it on a moonless night
I let my thoughts to roam out free

Bright was the sky lit by the stars
Down on earth darkness everywhere
Holding all the stars how vast is the sky
I let my thoughts to roam out free

Struggle hard science and brains
In finding life on other planets
Are there efforts in other planets too?
I let my thoughts to roam out free

Breaking the silence barked a dog
Not lagging behind joined other ones
Will there be winged dogs on planets?
I let my thoughts to roam out free

A soothing heaviness felt on eyelids
Luring me is the sleep to its tempting fold
Will there be nights to enjoy the sleep?
I called back my thoughts to roam in dreams
