Lay It On The Line Poem by FreeBird 02

Lay It On The Line

We must lay it on the line. My heart has been shattered! My pride is gone! If you don't long to resurrect the joys… of days gone by; my heart cries… 'From here on out, don't waste my time! '

Once upon a time, you cried like a damsel in distress. You called me your knight. You called me your Romeo; and you my Juliet. I slayed your dragon; and took you away from that dying ilussional plot! Now I sit here baffled! Oh, how your days of despair' have caught up with me. So now; like a drowning man in a river of love, fighting swift currents of distress… For with you I know these currents, I cannot beat! …It's time to lay it on the line.

We must lay it on the line. My heart has been shattered! My pride is gone! If you don't long to resurrect the joys… of days gone by; my heart cries… 'From here on out, don't waste my time! '

I should have felt it coming. I should have seen your' wondering eyes! Days of joy were becoming an illusion in disguise; just Icecapade in the night… no more snuggling delights! All days were grey! No black or white! The more I longed; the less I felt, though you were standing by my side! It's time to lay it on the line.

We must lay it on the line. My heart has been shattered! My pride is gone! If you don't long to resurrect the joys… of days gone by; my heart cries… 'From here on out, don't waste my time! '
Oh o; we must lay it on the line! My heart has been shattered! My pride is gone! If you don't long to resurrect the joys… of days gone by; my heart cries… 'From here on out, don't waste my time! '

…Oh lay it on the line…
