Lavender In The Snow Poem by Toni Atchison

Lavender In The Snow

Rating: 5.0

It seems as if another year
has slipped by me.
I, of course, remained
obtuse and wholly unaware.
Till some mundane task
of eveyday life
pulled me from my warm hermitage,
out into the world that lives
outside these sheltering walls.
And into my blissful blindness
comes a ray of shocking light,
and with one foot on the Earth
and one on worn wood steps,
I looked outside myself
and saw lavender in the snow.
