Laura Poem by Paul McAnaney

Laura

The space between us grows
just like the emptiness it shows,
as wide as the greatest ocean
filled with the unspoken words
that we fail to share because
of the vulnerability that is our
greatest fear.

I can no longer recognize the
girl i fell in love with in
the women who stands
before me, For you may
as well be a stranger
and now i realize our
fate is set in stone.

Even now i hear it in your
tone, the life we shared has
now been reduced to
a endless tear and now
i stare into our stagnant
empty future.
