Last Night In October Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Last Night In October

'Masks and costumes' is the theme
on the night we celebrate Halloween
and at my door, dancing in the dark
are three little cherubs from the park.
I smile their way, oh yeah - oh yeah...
and I offer pennies; delighted are they.
I will endure any trick they ordain, for
'trick or treat' is the name of the game
on this night preceding All Saints' Day.
