Last Leaf Poem by ramesh rai

Last Leaf

Last leaf is hidding herself
amongst the wood which are naked and bare
the autumn has snatched her all company
the company which was making joys together
now she is alone peeping from wood
for rescue, gazing at sun, moon and stars
all leaves are shattered with autumn wind
except she is the last leaf unwilling
to leave the tree clinged with his heart
like the pretty virgin does not want
to leave her father's house.

The comparison of the last leaf clinging to the branch of a tree to that of a virgin unwilling to leave her parental home is really beautiful! Yes, Autumn blasts come and shake off all yellowing leaves! Enjoyed the poem! Thanks for your great comment on my poem Winged Words!

To live as the last leaf is so painful with all the close associates gone. Pretty virgin wanted to leave but had no choice I think. Beautiful poem. Thank you.
