Landslides Happen Now And Again Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Landslides Happen Now And Again

Subsidence on the railway line
No trains will run today
Spread the news to office workers
They must find another way...
Sorry, it's just reality!

Work will take one hundred men
A thousand hours it seems
The cost will be phenomenal
No, this is not a childhood dream
This is stark reality.

Forty days and forty nights
Banging, clanging, boom-boom-boom
But after all is said and done
Passenger travel will resume
And this is not imaginary.
