Land Of Mizzle And Drizzle Poem by Jessica Warrior

Land Of Mizzle And Drizzle

The night we arrived here
Dogs were barking to rend our skies
We woke up in the evening
In an empty house with skinless skulls
Since I've given it different stories
I've disdained their measuring goals
I was hoping for good
While they were scrounging better lives
Rasht, I wanna die sunny
Your nights are wolves despised
Can't reunite despicably
Under your insoluble evening sky
The nostalgia you have skimmed
Tortures your grandies elsewhere

Does it console you, my raggedness
Does it console you, my farewell

Once I held a mirror against your sky
It ran red and blue and cried
Till summer assured it I'm unarmed
You fear me, I hate suns
Like all the other apologies
Ah, a century hasn't entered the circle yet
The circle of my melancholic hatred
You fear me; I've walked your river
Your only guard,
And your people and your wastes
And your vertical buildings
You're just like me
Born mistaken and mistakes led you obscene
And time in you is just jiving around your outskirts
A simple whisper through your ears
Shall destabilize you well
To move, obey

Does it console you now, my shabbiness
Does it console you now, my farewell
