Lament To The Full Moon Poem by Geoffrey Fafard

Lament To The Full Moon

Rating: 5.0

"nothing is lifeless
when the moon writes its screed
on the silvern sand silence

-From the poem: 'The Universe In Blossom"
― Munia Khan

The chorus of a good song is what we wait for
Because thats what we remember
It is like a full moon after a dark night
But the chorus of a bad song
Well- it is like a bad affair with you
After you tell me you have had ten good ones
The full moon speaks to me of a song
I tried so hard to write
Sadly I lost the plot though
But wait guess what? What?
I awoke on a dark night and that song
Came singing and ringing clear into my head
There was your voice sweetly singing
Telling me of the missing moon
It was a sickly sweet and yet sad song
So far away
God I hate the full moon
It hurts me here
In my jail
I wish it would leave, vanish
From this side of things
And with a touch of luck
It would hit and run you
On its way out of here.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was dreaming of a place so beautifully private and dark and then she stuck her face through the window… all pale and yellow and knowing.

Dreaming a place of beauty is very interesting. Full or half moon comes in interesting imagery here and speaks about life interestingly. Nice sharing.10
