Lament Of A Would Be Mother Poem by Charlotte Ballard

Lament Of A Would Be Mother

Rating: 4.0

I am at the mercy
Of another’s biology
Either here, or there
It blends into something
Gray and dull,
Dripping with saltwater
The place curves
West then east
Down into an empty
Hole, full of whispers
And promises that
Don’t mean much
Here in the wilderness.
